IT Manager - Operations and Improvement Lead


We are looking for a talented IT manager to join our team as an Operations and Improvement Lead within our Engine Business Unit in Darlington.

This role is on site, as you will be a visible presence on campus. You will be accountable for support systems issue management to prevent any impact to Darlington campus operations and implement improvements that prevent repeat occurrences.

Stakeholders for this role will be the Darlington Leadership Team. This role will support Cummins Corporate and EBU driven projects being implemented across Darlington Campus and other EBU Locations across Europe and USA.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Responsible for IT activities across the Darlington Campus - this encompasses both EBU and CES Business Unit Operations

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with relevant vendors; work with vendors to improve functionality and resolve issues

  • Responsible for financial management including AOP, budget management, and forecasting

  • Responsible for People Management including work plan development, performance management, and people development.

  • Responsible for team building and development including organization structure, recruiting, global team management.

  • Compile and present Management Reports on team performance including metrics, deliverable status, etc.

  • Communicate status to senior management.

  • Ensure team adherence to all IT processes, policies, and procedures including IT Security.

  • Engagement with customers in their respective function or business area.


To be a success in this role you will need;

  • Experienced Senior IT professional with excellent understanding of IT technology trend and enterprise IT architecture

  • Experience working in a Manufacturing or similar fast paced working environment.

  • Supervisory experience, being responsible for People Management including work plan development, performance management, and people development. This role will lead a team of IT staff including Shop, Office and Exempt levels.

  • Broad business knowledge and the ability to communicate and partner with internal & external business and IT stakeholders.

  • Global Team Player. Ability to work with the GPVs to deliver solutions for multiple BUs supported across the Darlington Campus
