Description
We are looking for a talented Test Operations Manager to join our team in Darlington England.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
The Test Operations Manager is responsible for the smooth running of the test facility in Darlington ensuring the health, safety, quality, and productivity needs of the business are delivered.
This developing leadership management position develops and delivers technical talent mainly in one of the following environments: Laboratory, Drafting/Product Configuration, Functional Excellence or Engineering IT.
Primary responsibility is the development of technically capable people often across multiple technical sites within a business unit or corporate, and making these people available to perform duties necessary to satisfy the businesses technical needs.
Responsible for Test Ops Team with 40 team members reporting direct and indirectly who work a 24/7 shift pattern.
Owner for Test Ops processes, procedures, and area risk assessment for the operations
Ensuring the key performance indicators are reported monthly for the department including the driving forward of improvement initiatives to increase efficiencies, reducing costs and helping us to achieve ISO17025 certification
Driving the implementation of 5S throughout the test cell facilities
In charge of supporting existing team members needing training to work on a new facility (Power Gen facility)

Qualifications
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Demonstrated aptitude is required.
A college, university, or equivalent associate's degree or certification in an Engineering Technology area is required.
Experience
Prior Technical Specialist/Specialist Engineering equivalent work experience in a product, technology or engineering service role with demonstrated success leading projects and influencing outcomes through either direct or indirect reporting relationships.
Must have a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving, quality decision making, providing technical direction and leadership to a project team(s) and conflict resolution.
Technical experience – knowledge on engines
Operations experience
Team management experience
Background in testing, development – similar areas (preferred)
