This is an exciting opportunity in Daventry OR Kent for an Accountant
Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:
Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor the key tasks of this role are to support accurate financial statements for the Kent site, including posting GL adjustments, preparing balance sheet reconciliations and Intercompany AP process ownership.
The role will also be responsible for preparing compliance returns, and helping to drive improvement in monthly processes to ensure they are completed timely and accurately.
Makes accounting adjustments through appropriate journal entries.
Assists with monthly and annual account reconciliations and close activities.
Process journal entries in respect of loan accounts,
Manage intercompany accounting, including timely validation of Intercompany AP transactions,
Responsible for some balance sheet accounts.
Processing ad-hoc sales invoices and credits,
Manage commission accounting.
Maintain General Ledger codes; cost centre departments, high digit rules, timely closures.
Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly corporate schedules.
Assist in the preparation of compliance returns, including the annual completion of UK statutory accounting pack, International reporting pack, PAYE Settlement and Government surveys.
Examines a variety of financial statements and transactions for completeness, internal accuracy, and conformance with accounting standards.
Compiles, consolidates, and conducts basic analysis of accounting and finance information.
Maintain and ensure compliance with internal controls as required under Sarbanes Oxley 404Assist in ad-hoc project/analysis as required.
Prepares tables, charts, and other exhibits for reports.
May perform less complex accounting projects or participate as a team member on more complex projects.
Skills and Experience Required:
Strong double entry knowledge, some exposure to completion of compliance returns.
Confident working with minimal supervision.
Will ideally have worked in a manufacturing / automotive environment
Knowledge of Oracle software systems would be an advantage
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required ACCA or CIMA qualified or working towards
Compensation and Benefits
£29,431- £35,970 (dependent on experience)
8% Variable Bonus
