Cummins have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Electrical Facilities Engineer in Daventry. You will play a pivotal role in our test facilities, leading on the detailed design and coordination of electrical infrastructure solutions; including Low & High Voltage Distribution and Grid connectivity within Power Systems UK engineering test facilities.

This is the perfect role for you if you are looking for the opportunity to work in an innovative test facility with industry leading technology. You will apply your electrical expertise to enhance existing and new products, working on a variety of exciting projects.

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:

  • Lead the scoping of test cell electrical equipment/infrastructure requirements, identify appropriate contractors and suppliers, sign off electrical installation design and lead implementation of test cell electrical infrastructure/systems.

  • Create and maintain electrical documentation for Power Systems UK Engineering test facilities, including drawings, process documents & work instructions.

  • Collaborate with the site electrical & safety teams to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and corporate policies.

  • Guide and support the UK Test Technology team, including Troubleshooting test cell issues, driving improvements based on root cause analysis.

  • Develop the skills and experience required to fill the role of the UK Senior Authorised Person for HV& LV testing.

  • Support the continuous improvements of measurement methods and control systems in Power Systems test facilities.


To be a success in this role you will need:

  • Previous experience in a generator or engine test cell environment, focusing on electrical infrastructure installation is required.

  • An advance knowledge of key legislation such as BS 7671, IEC 60634 is essential to be considered.

  • A formal qualification in LV and training and/or experience in HV is required.

  • Demonstrable Project Management experience, with a focus on achieving key deliverables within budget and in a timely manner.

  • Representing the facility as the electrical installation expert and liaising with varied colleagues from technician to senior leader level.

  • Coaching and mentoring peers, imparting your knowledge and skills.

  • To be an influencer of change, institutionalizing a culture of simplification and standardization, whilst championing Health and Safety for the facility.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary between £38,161 - £46,640 depending on relevant experience.

  • Defined contribution pension scheme - company contributions up to 9%

  • Annual bonus plan - target 8% (based upon company performance)
