Reporting to the Accounting Manager this role forms part of a finance team that supports operations with an annual revenue of more than $1.7bn. Daventry Power Systems Plant is part of Cummins Inc. a global power leader with over 58,000 employees and revenues of $24bn providing endless opportunities for career development.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience working for a US Fortune 500 company, leading and developing a team of 2, building remote relationships with entities around the globe and leading / participating in projects across the various finance functions and wider business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of key financial processes including but not limited to Fixed Assets, Leases, VAT, Receivables, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, I/C Loan Accounts, Revenue Recognition.

  • Management and development of the 2 Assistant Accountants

  • Business partner to the Customer Order Management Team and other department managers.

  • Compilation and analysis of information. Reporting of key financial, sales, margin and cost data to various internal and external stakeholders.

  • Work closely with various corporate functions and external auditors.

  • Key month end close responsibilities

  • Active participant in system upgrades / implementations.

  • Implement accounting policies in collaboration with the Accounting Manager.

  • Review of balance sheet account reconciliations prepared by the team

  • Actively identify and implement process improvements across the finance function.

  • Adhoc projects as required by the business.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience Preferred:

  • Relevant post qualification experience of key financial processes is essential.

  • Strong communication and management skills. Active listener.

  • Ability to make complex scenarios understandable to non- finance managers.

  • Foster team work and can build strong working relationships.

  • Proficient Excel user with the ability to analyse large amounts of data.

  • ERP system knowledge and experience

  • Focused on meeting deadlines

  • Preferred Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • You must be ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified.

  • Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary up to £45,000 plus a variable bonus (paid annually based on company performance)
