Description

Cummins are now recruiting for our 2020 intake of 12 month placements in the UK, which provide a meaningful opportunity for university students to accomplish real-world projects in a professional environment.

Duties of the role :-

Performs routine functions related to a site's environmental requirements, Environment objectives and targets, and the overall Health, Environmental and Energy Management System (EEnMS).

Routine functions may include the gathering and analysis of environmental data,supporting sites with energy, water, and waste efficiency projects, scorecardsand documentation to be produced to meet the Organisations’ legal obligations,develop and/ or improve tools to manage environment matters at the site(s),carrying out visual site inspections and audits, and other related duties, asdirected by the Organisations’ HSE Manager.

Applies project management skills and provides administrative and logistics support for an Environment/ Facilities projectteam and project manager.

  • Supports development, implementation and maintenance of the organisations’ EEnMS (ISO 14001, ISO 50001). Supports regulatory compliance efforts and other programs applicable at the site including waste, water and energy management.

  • Supports the identification, development, implementation and sustainability of energy, water and waste projects aimed at achieving the company’s 2020 sustainability targets.

  • Supports the organisation with employee training, recordkeeping/reporting, environmental communications, document control, measuring, monitoring, and interpreting environmental parameters, inspections and audits, management reviews, environmental meetings, and other associated environment and energy programmes at the site.

  • Assists the Environment/ facilities teams with the closure of corrective actions raised as a result of internal/ external audits/ inspections findings.

  • Serves as a resource on Environment projects and work assignments; employs basic knowledge of effective project management and general business understanding.

  • Supports the business preparing the environment projects finance models and prepares the project’s application for funding. Identifies, tracks, and works with others to resolve environment project issues.

  • Monitors and communicates environment project status to project and HSE teams.

Qualifications

  • On-goingcollege, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or health, safety andenvironmental sciences, or a related technical or scientific field required.

  • To be eligible for our 12 Month work placement you must be a university student who has a placement year option as part of their degree programme. You will spend a year in a specific department to gain real experience in your subject area. You are supported by formal and informal training, and work on projects that add true value to the business.
