Our Distribution Business Unit in Europe consists of a distributor and dealer support network. They deliver reliable sales and service of durable and high performing engine, generator set and aftermarket products to our regionally based (global) partners. This is an exciting opportunity in Dordrecht for a Marine Project Manager Engineering.
Cummins has a strong marine heritage dating back to the Company’s start in 1919. Today, Cummins continues its legacy of providing reliable, durable diesels to the marine market with a broad range of power 5.9 to 95 litres for commercial, government and recreational applications.

You will manage the full lifecycle of Marine engine customer projects – from order through to delivery and commissioning.
Using formal project-management methodology, you will plan timescales, resource allocation, installation and testing prior to final customer acceptance.
You will lead the development and use of effective project management processes to measure and report on project progress.
Working cross-functionally with sales, engineering and order-management, as well as with 3rd-party suppliers, you will leverage Cummins’ global engineering and project management capability to ensure smooth customer installations.
Acting as the operational liaison with the customer, you will track and communicate delivery timescales.
Skills and Experience Required:
Ability to gather, analyse and communicate customer technical requirements, acting as the ‘Voice of the Customer’
Experience of leading teams, either directly or in a matrix-management environment.
The ability to correctly identify, document and act on (or escalate as required) issues within a project, and the capacity to prioritise appropriately.
The ability to assess, report on and mitigate project risk, using standard tools such as FMEA.
The ability to influence and cooperate with international and multicultural teams.
Experience of facilitating and leading project management workshops to ensure cross-functional alignment.
Experience of monitoring and controlling project budgets in line with initial forecasts.
Demonstrable track-record of developing and embedding new project-management tools across the project team, including training and change management.
Exposure to standard project reporting tools E.g. MS Project, Excel (to advanced-user standard).
Fluent English – written and spoken.
Fluent Dutch – written and spoken.
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
Bachelors degree in Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering-related discipline.
Or: equivalent vocational experience, ideally in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture
Formal project management qualification, e.g. APM PMQ, PMP Prince2 Practitioner
