Customer Engineering Manager

Description

This is a fantastic opportunity, leading a team who manage the design and installation of our powertrain products and relevant subsystems for a variety of customers across Germany.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Developing a team of technically capable engineers across multiple disciplines, integrating a culture of best in class service, and encouraging collaborative working; including the sharing of knowledge to find innovative solutions for each customer.

  • Creating KPI’s to drive performance and provide clear guidelines for professional development that will motivate the team.

  • Provide problem resolution leadership for complex systems with a high degree of ambiguity and often global business impact.

  • Identify opportunities to improve work processes and systems, such as resource allocation and management, organizational and business change, customer/stakeholder management, and knowledge management; all used to enable high-quality decision making that meets business expectations.

  • Coach and mentor employees to provide guidance and direction on resolving problems, technical know-how, removing barriers to progress, and career path planning. Assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports.

  • Own decisions such as resource deployment cost and timing allocations, project prioritization, personnel staffing, and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) management.

Qualifications

To be a success in this role you will need;

  • To be degree qualified in a relevant STEM subject, or direct relevant work experience.

  • A track record of technical problem solving, and quality decision making, providing technical direction and leadership to an engineering team

  • To be an influential leader who can lead by example and motivate a team to achieve key targets by working smartly and collaboratively.

  • To be highly methodical, with a solution-led mindset.

  • To be an advocate for change and implement your ideas in how we can streamline processes and procedures.

  • You are driven by achieving key milestones within given timeframes and you encourage the same mentality within your team.

  • You are adaptable to change and capable of working in a high pressure, fast-moving environment.

  • English language skills are essential. German language highly desirable and other European languages will also be considered.
