Cummins are now recruiting for our 2020 intake of Graduates and Placement Students in the UK & Europe, which provide a meaningful opportunity for university students to accomplish real-world projects in a professional environment.
Our two-year European Marketing and Sales Trainee Program offers a unique and exciting opportunity to kick-off your Marketing & Sales career at Cummins:
You will work on four exciting six-month assignments, one in each of the four business units across Europe, with base country location in Sweden, Poland or Germany.
Your rotation program will be customized and aligned to recognize your strengths and career goals.
Your rotations will provide an unparalleled opportunity to gain experience across our product portfolio and business.
Cummins will invest in your personal development providing relevant training and networking opportunities. In addition you will be partnered with a sponsor from the European Leadership Team that will guide you during the full 2 years.
Rotation areas: Account Management - Product Planning - Product Management - Pricing - Marketing Communications - Market Strategy and Planning - Channel Management - Sales Management.
Key elements include:
Work closely with European Marketing Team colleagues and other key stakeholders to deliver marketing support in line with the European marketing plan, as part of European Marketing Team
Provides support in the execution of marketing strategies; drafts marketing plans and materials using basic market research methods. Plans include all pricing analysis, costings and budgeting before presenting the analytics to marketing management for discussion and interpretation.
Monitors and tracks marketing communications projects and events as they relate to assigned area.
Provide coordination and marketing support for events.
Provide marketing support for communication and PR campaigns, including production and distribution of marketing collateral and sales materials
Provide marketing support for website and new media for Europe
Compile and coordinate marketing information for Audit or other reports for Europe, as required
Provide support for relationship marketing programs, including deployment of direct marketing campaigns (including email campaigning), and support by providing customer and prospect data – local or for Europe, as required
Support local sales teams with marketing collateral – brochures, flyers and other literature required for local sales teams – maintaining a library of marketing documents, in local language, as required
Provide local marketing support to the Cummins Distribution Europe sales team and other key stakeholders, across all marketing functions in line with the marketing plan.
Provide local marketing support for events within the local region, assisting with co-ordination and events logistics. This will include attending key events to provide support the stand build and stand duty as required (including where weekend support work may be required).
Support the requirement to gain stakeholder input for the production of the Cummins customer magazine, and internal newsletter, including collecting data from key stakeholders and copywriting content into articles for inclusion in future issues.
Provide local marketing support for communication and PR campaigns in local region, including production and distribution of marketing collateral and sales materials.
Provide local marketing support for website and social media as required.
Collation and distribution of marketing materials and collateral – across Europe, as required.
Support the production of all forms of marketing collateral, including advertising, flyers, brochures and other marketing collateral requirements for Europe
Audit Cummins Distribution Europe marketing literature as at present across all locations. Develop a list of requirements across Europe, including language variations, and co-ordinate the fulfilment of literature requirements.
Support with coordination of ordering of Cummins branded merchandise (including show uniform) requirements
Liaise with key suppliers and agencies, developing a good working relationship to ensure successful delivery of marketing campaigns to a high quality standard, in line with budget and deadline.
Manage multiple and changing priorities to meet business requirements for the European Marketing Team
To attend European Marketing Team meetings
Employs basic knowledge of effective marketing and general business understanding.
Keeps business and product teams apprised of the status of marketing communications materials.
Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience and knowledge of marketing and implementing marketing campaigns is preferred.
Experience of building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions, both internally & externally and across diverse groups of people is preferred.
Ability to manage conflict, work collaboratively and adapt approach/demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations.
Communicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences. Whilst also adopting active listening techniques to translate needs and expectations from customers.
Creative Communication Design, Ability to develop and deliver compelling narrative & messages to engage target audience, whilst applying appropriate tools and media types to create effective, high-quality visual and experiential media.
Ability to evaluate success indicators by using appropriate collection methods and analyzing the results to validate content effectiveness vs objectives.
Project Management skills is preferred.
Good knowledge of English (company language).
Experience of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and analytical skills is essential
Financial understanding is preferred.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
University or college degree in the field of Sales or Marketing, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
