Our Distribution Business Unit in Europe consists of a distributor and dealer support network. They deliver reliable sales and service of durable and high performing engine, generator set and aftermarket products to our regionally based (global) partners. This is an exciting opportunity in Gross Gerau for an HR Generalist.
Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:
Working closely with the Regional HR Manager, you will support the Gross Gerau site with all operational HR issues.
You will demonstrate an in-depth practical awareness of Germany company law (Betriebsverfassungsrecht).
You will liaise closely with the Works Council (Betriebsrat) on all operational matters, including recruitment, terminations, and the local application of national labour agreements.
Your work will include the full range of HR activities, including recruitment, employee retention, compensation and benefits, disciplinary proceedings, and the maintenance of employee information in line with GDPR legislation and company policy.
You will also assist with HR project work, including employee engagement surveys, salary benchmarking and ad hoc projects.
You will work closely with the Payroll department on operational issues and policy implementation, e.g. changes in pension provision.
Most importantly, you will act as a consultant and partner to the business – advising on best practice, coaching managers in effective talent acquisition, management and development, and enabling Cummins to fully leverage its Human Capital.
Skills and Experience Required:
Commercial experience in an HR Generalist role, ideally in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
A track record of working closely with Works Councils (Betriebsrat).
Extensive knowledge of German labour law.
An ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
Experience of stakeholder management (HR Leaders, Engineering Leaders, Works Councils).
Background in driving Functional Excellence through the implementation and monitoring of appropriate KPIs.
Fluent German, written and spoken to a high standard.
Fluent English, written and spoken to a high standard.
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
- Personalkauffrau/mann qualification
- Flexibility to travel up to 10% as required (UK / Serbia)
