Sales Account Manager - Aftermarket


We are looking for a dynamic and autonomous Aftermarket Sales Account Manager for off highway and power generation applications who will contribute to the further business growth by providing premier customer service and developing strong relationships with our clients.

Managing and expanding a valued portfolio of customers in Germany and other German speaking countries , this independent position sits within our distribution business unit, based in Gross Gerau with home office possibility.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Sell Cummins Aftermarket product portfolio to assigned business customers to achieve sales goals, expand existing customer relationships and execute account sales plans in support of business strategy.

  • Develop, manage, and maintain business relationships with assigned accounts supporting Cummins sales strategy, support account strategy and work with key stakeholders in the business to achieve optimum results.

  • Evaluate the markets, identify and approach potential opportunities to increase sales by identifying, contacting prospective customers.

  • Guide and coordinate all communication and interfaces with the customers at all levels and provide individual solution & technical support.

  • Support in the negotiation and implementation of contracts, including payment terms and accounts receivable deliverables.

  • Grow and establish positive customer relations in existing accounts. Monitor customer satisfaction and create action plans for improvement where necessary.

  • Report activity via the CRM tool, produce sales forecasts, provide input to the overall sales plan, collaborate with key stakeholders to develop sales strategies and action plans to achieve optimum results by measuring, analyzing and reporting sales figures on regular basis.


To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Engineering or business administration education and existing sales and account management experience ideally within the engine, power generation automotive or related technical segment of industry are preferable.

  • German and English language on professional level.

  • Must be willing to travel up to 50% to visit client sites. German driving license is required.

  • Natural relationship building skills with a desire to provide a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • Commercially aware with a genuine passion for the industry and the brand, growing the market share and increasing Cummins presence.
