Cummins is a world leader in the design and manufacture of power generation equipment, including PowerCommand™ standby and prime power systems. We also provide single-source warranty, planned maintenance and round-the-clock emergency service, including back-up power rental through our network of distributors.

All aspects of generator set design, manufacture and service have been brought together in one company. All the major components – the engine, alternator and control systems – are manufactured by Cummins. This integrated approach means each element of a generating set is matched to work in harmony from the start.

This is an exciting opportunity in Gross Gerau for a Field Sales Account Executive.

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:

  • You will sell Cummins Power Generation products and services by developing new prospects and accounts.

  • You will contribute to Cummins’ overall financial forecasts and revenue targets by meeting your own sales target for your allocated region and customer base.

  • You will develop relationships to maximise revenue as well as generating ongoing customer loyalty.

  • Through effective prospecting, lead generation, customer outreach and new-business sales techniques, you will manage the full sales lifecycle, converting prospects into long-term customers.

  • You will also act as the first point of contact for account management, offering product advice, acting as a customer advocate, and managing customer concerns.

  • As an experienced salesperson, you will offer guidance and mentoring to less-experienced sales colleagues.

You will make effective use of Cummins sales and customer relationship management tools, ensuring CRM data is effectively maintained and leveraged to maintain and deepen customer relationships.


Skills and Experience Required:

  • A strong track record of developing both direct customer and channel partner relationships.

  • Ability to win market share through identification, bidding, negotiating and closing sales opportunities within a defined sales territory.

  • The ability to accurately report, forecast and convert a sales pipeline.

  • Representation of Cummins at trade fairs, industry-specific technical forums and events, and within technical working groups.

  • Fully customer-focused, with the drive and tenacity to represent Cummins in the field, and to win market share.

  • Gathering and relaying feedback to Commercial and Engineering leaders to ensure customer feedback is heard and acted upon to continually improve our capability, value proposition and market perception.

  • A strong ability to maintain internal and external relationships – with customers as well as product engineering, sales & marketing & application engineering teams.

  • A track record of compliance and ethical sales behaviour as well as alignment with Cummins’ core values of ethics, safety and diversity.

  • Fluent English, written and spoken, to a high professional standard

  • Fluent German, written and spoken, to a high professional standard

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • Bachelors degree in marketing, sales or engineering-related discipline.

  • OR: equivalent vocational experience in a sales-focused role within an engineering organisation.
