Our Distribution Business Unit in Europe consists of a distributor and dealer support network. They deliver reliable sales and service of durable and high performing engine, generator set and aftermarket products to our regionally based (global) partners. This is an exciting opportunity in Gross Gerau for an Off-highway Engines Field Sales Representative
Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:
You will be responsible for sales of engines to the off-highway vehicle market in Germany and Switzerland.
You will maintain relationships with existing customers and win business with new customers in a defined territory.
You will develop and leverage your knowledge of Cummins’ product set in order to generate outstanding levels of customer satisfaction.
You will consolidate existing sales opportunities and potential revenue to contribute to the current sales forecast.
You will also identify, develop and close new business opportunities in order to win market share and to build Cummins’ brand awareness as a leading engine supplier to the Off-highway market.
You will promote Cummins’ innovative diesel engine products to your customer base, such as Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology, and the Single Module™ aftertreatment system – promoting the environmental, efficiency and cost benefits.
You will also build customer loyalty by building awareness of the post-sales services available: Cummins Care, the world's largest and most capable support network with over 7,500 locations worldwide.
You will develop an effective account strategy to ensure market penetration, effective distribution of product information, and the execution of a structured customer contact plan.
You will also act as the first point of contact for account management, offering product advice, acting as a customer advocate, and managing customer concerns.
You will make effective use of Cummins sales and customer relationship management tools, ensuring CRM data is effectively maintained and leveraged to maintain and deepen customer relationships.
Skills and Experience Required:
A strong track record of developing both direct customer and channel partner relationships.
Ability to win market share through identification, bidding, negotiating and closing sales opportunities within a defined sales territory.
The ability to accurately report, forecast and convert a sales pipeline.
Fully customer-focused, with the drive and tenacity to represent Cummins in the field, and to win market share.
Gathering and relaying feedback to Commercial and Engineering leaders to ensure customer feedback is heard and acted upon to continually improve our capability, value proposition and market perception.
A strong ability to maintain internal and external relationships – with customers as well as product engineering, sales & marketing & application engineering teams.
A track record of compliance and ethical sales behaviour as well as alignment with Cummins’ core values of ethics, safety and diversity.
A reputation for delivering on customer commitments and promises.
Fluent written and spoken English and German, with the ability to write technical bid documents, sales proposals and marketing information.
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
Bachelor degree in an engineering-related discipline.
OR: equivalent vocational experience in a sales-focused role within an engineering organisation.
