We are looking for an HSE Manager to manage our site in Huddersfield. There are approx. 1,100 individuals onsite which consists of manufacturing and engineering facilities and there is a very significant investment in the facility so your input will be absolutely crucial to this project. You’ll have the opportunity to put your own stamp on your role as well as collaborate with the global HSE team, working towards making Huddersfield one of our flagship sites.

This role is ideal for you if you have a wealth of experience managing HSE in a high risk environment and you still enjoy being involved at the coalface. You’ll be a natural leader and your positive approach to HSE culture will be influential within the business.

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:

  • Develop and lead the overall Health, Safety and Environmental Management System (HSEMS) for the entire site.

  • Lead HSEMS Management Reviews with site leadership,

  • Develop complex hazard control designs, methods, procedures and programs

  • Anticipates, identifies and evaluates hazardous safety conditions and environmental risks

  • Interpret and apply internal and external standards in support of hazard and risk reduction and compliance

  • Effectively manage the HSE team; setting and managing KPI’s and encouraging skills developments and progression

  • Train employees and other applicable personnel on HSE procedures, practices and controls.

  • Collaborate with Plant Transformation Director relating to current site upgrade

Support internal audits throughout the EMEA region to drive consistency and improvement across Cummins site


Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience within a high risk environment at a managerial level

  • Experience in guiding and develop a small team of HSE professionals

  • Strong interpersonal skills – including ability to work with and influence others

  • Experience of performing thorough and effective incident investigation, including root cause analysis and development of effective corrective actions

  • Ability to work on high pace moving projects, dealing with complexity and risk assessments

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • College, university, or equivalent degree is preferred

  • Preferred NEBOSH certification

Compensation and Benefits
