Description

Cummins’ newest and fifth business segment – New Power – is looking for a student communications specialist to join our team in Huddersfield. It is an exciting time for alternative fuels like electrification and hydrogen fuel cells across the world and at Cummins. We like to think of New Power as a well-funded startup within the walls of a 101-year-old company. It’s uniquely positioned within a Fortune 150 to think differently and push the boundaries of innovation in a fast-paced environment.

We are looking for a talented communicator to join our team to help us tell the stories of our employees’ innovations, why these new technologies matter and the impact they are making on our communities. This role is a cross between traditional communications as well as marketing communications, as we explore and execute unique ways to promote our products and people.

  • Marketing Communications: Support marketing communications plans by working with key business stakeholders to create brochures, digital content, sales and training materials, presentations and spec sheets. Also, support the business’ trade shows, customer visits and other product-focused events.

  • Storyteller: Tell New Power’s story by producing content in a wide variety of forms, including blog posts, videos, photo stories, listicles, case studies and long-form articles.

  • Digital: Plan, implement and monitor social media content and strategies in order to increase brand awareness and support marketing efforts. Analyze competitors and identify Cummins content gaps; identify and prioritize audiences and create audience personas; gather and analyst content performance (metrics).

(Graphic design is a bonus skill and not a requirement.)

Qualifications

  • Strong Writer: Clearly express ideas, organize thoughts and convey emotions in written form that connect with diverse audiences – from employees to customers and other external stakeholders. Looking for someone who is strong in both technical writing and conversational style.

  • Bring to Life Communications Plans: Executes communication tactics including technical and/or promotional material writing, brochures, sales kits, presentations, blog posts, social media, events and videos.
