This is an exciting opportunity in Huddersfield, UK for a Supplier Quality Improvement Engineer.

By assisting in the selection, development, management, and assurance of defect-free performance of the business' supplier base with the objective of overall quality improvement.
Resolving supplier quality issues.
Participating in supplier evaluation, selection, and strategic sourcing process development.
Assisting in the supplier corrective action process including containment, root cause analysis, and corrective action.
Ensuring suppliers use quality tools effectively.
Working with suppliers to ensure all product requirements are met.
Reviewing the supplier quality resources for new product introduction and current products to reduce supplier related issues, improve process capabilities, and ensure timely project launches.
Being responsible for determining if all requirements are met by the supplier for new or changed products.
Measuring supplier quality performance according to established procedures; driving appropriate improvements to meet established targets.
Facilitating continuous improvement activities to reduce defects.
Skills and Experience Required:
Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
Making good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward.
Significant problem-solving skills.
AIAG Core tools are seen as being fundamental in support of the automotive preferred quality system ISO/TS 16949, and delivering satisfactory product quality.
Minimallevel of relevant work experience required.
Experience with machining and assembly plus ant other manufacturing processes is desirable
Experience with basic measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.) and understanding of GD&T is essential.
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
- College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject desirable.
£32,491- £36,100 per year
