Our Distribution Business Unit in Europe consists of a distributor and dealer support network. They deliver reliable sales and service of durable and high performing engine, generator set and aftermarket products to our regionally based (global) partners. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Field Service Engineer in Istanbul, covering clients across Turkey and some of Eastern Europe.
You will be a part of the Cummins Service Department, supporting our technicians by providing technical expertise on the more complex client issues, working on a multitude of our products and their applications, across all industries.
This is the perfect role for you if you are highly analytical with an investigative approach to problem solving. You enjoy ambiguity in your day and you have a genuine passion for hands- on engineering and finding practical solutions.
Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:
Provide technical support for complex service related issues.
Serve as the primary technical support resource for Turkish clients, providing diagnostic support on complex and hard to diagnose warranty and non-warranty repair events.
Formulate and direct complex repair plans.
Document and report on the results of diagnostic and repair actions in the appropriate database clearly and concisely.
Oversee the escalation of more complex requests to the appropriate level of support.
Lead diagnostic support and escalation process improvement activities.
Maintain knowledge and technical understanding of current products and new products.
Promote Cummins Service capability and Service Programs to increase sales.
Distribute technical communications to the assigned region.
Investigate product issues at customer or dealer locations.
Mentor and coach technicians in the region to improve capability.
Skills and Experience Required:
Substantial existing experience working with engines and generators, focusing on mechanical, electrical, electronic and software issues.
Familiar with diagnostic support tools, data loggers, remote connect and control tools with the ability to analyse relevant data.
A current drivers licence, with flexibility to travel nationally and overseas as and when required.
Confidence in communicating at all levels, discussing highly complex, technical issues in layman’s terms with the ability to create reports.
Advanced Turkish and English language skills are essential to be considered for this position.

A high standard of written and spoken English language skills are required to be considered for this position.
- A Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering Degree would be beneficial, but non- essential.
