Our Distribution Business Unit in Europe consists of a distributor and dealer support network. They deliver reliable sales and service of durable and high performing engine, generator set and aftermarket products to our regionally based (global) partners. This is an exciting opportunity in Stockholm, Sweden for a Technical Service Support Specialist.

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:

  • You will support the Cummins service network and authorized service providers to maintain, diagnose, repair and rebuild customers’ engine or power generation sets, remotely or on site.

  • You will be key in supporting and advising procedures and corrective actions in order to put the customers equipment back into an operational state with the minimum of downtime.

  • Acting as a Field Service Engineer for all types of engine and power generation systems (mechanical, electrical, fuel systems, control systems, calibration, lubrication etc), you will be the escalation path where service has been unable to resolve the issue.

  • You will provide first class technical documentation and proactively share information across the service support network using the central databases.

  • Using your high-level technical reporting skills, you will provide investigation reports including reports for insurance cases and in response to legal enquiries (where personal injury or property damage may have occurred).

  • Your knowledge, experience and process driven approach will strengthen our local operational service organization and the European field service engineering team.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience Required:

  • A strong background of diagnosing, repairing and maintaining engines and generator sets of a variety of sizes.

  • Good understanding of modern engine and power generation analysis tools for mechanical, electrical and electronic systems using computers, engine controllers, data loggers and software packages, including data analysis and graphing.

  • Experience of a variety of engine uses and environments, including on and off-highway, datacentres, mining and construction applications.

  • Strong report-writing skills and a track record of producing high-quality, accurate documentation.

  • Excellent IT skills (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint and technical databases)

  • An ability to self-manage: to plan schedules, workloads, reporting and customer interaction and to communicate progress to management.

  • A strong awareness of health & safety, risk analysis and safe working practices.

  • Fluent Swedish and English language – ability to converse and to produce technical reports to a high standard.

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • University degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.

  • OR an equivalent vocational qualification.

  • Full driving licence

Other requirements:

  • Flexible attitude to travel for technical investigations, training sessions and meetings. Travel up to 50%

  • Flexible work times if required

  • Comfortable with conducting field investigations under varied conditions alongside office-based work. Split expected 50/50
