This is an exciting opportunity in Milton Keynes for a Manager – Battery Enclosure Design.
Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:
You will manage, motivate and develop a new team responsible for the design, development, test and validation of high-voltage battery pack enclosures for pure-electric and hybrid powertrains.
You will deliver all of the structural elements of the enclosure, includingcovers, base plates and sealing mechanismsas well as the pack-mounting system.
Leveraging your experience of on and off-highway powertrain development, you will lead the development of rapid prototyping methodologies for next-generation battery enclosure development.
You will drive the reduction in the product emergence process lead-time, utilising analysis-led design techniques.
You will own the structural validation process for all aspects of the battery enclosure, including NVH analysis, physical impact test, weight reduction and safety.
You will offer advice and consultancy to the wider engineering department on manufacturing feasibility, tooling and product cost optimisation.

Skills and Experience Required:
Basic understanding of electrochemistry and cell development
Understanding of Battery Management Systems (BMS).
An understanding of stress / strain analysis using Ansys.
Expert user of an industry-standard 3D CAD package (e.g. Catia V5, Creo, Siemens NX).
Team-leadership / management experience, including skills-matrix maintenance and gap analysis.
Experience of facilitating and leading cross-functional design reviews.
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
- BEng in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent vocational experience.
Compensation and Benefits
An attractive base salary of £54-70,000 (dependent on experience)
