Account Manager – Key Account & AvK
We are looking for a talented Account Manager to join our team specializing in Generators for our Cummins Generator Technology Business in Peterborough.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Managing and developing one of our top Key Accounts promoting Cummins solutions and offerings.
Developing and executing account plans to build customer relationships and achieving sales goals within the assigned territory.
Developing opportunities to increase sales revenue by researching and identifying new areas where we can support the customer and prospecting those into sales opportunities.
Using technical knowledge to understand the needs of a customer and identify the best Cummins solutions for their needs.
Maintaining and updating accurate CRM system and producing accurate forecasts.
Working collaboratively with counterparts around the globe as well as cross functionally to ensure a best in class service throughout the Cummins Generator Technology business.
Avk Business development by translating customers’ needs into product requirements for AvK branded products and promoting this brand among global customers.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Must have previous demonstratable sales account management experience with a technical product / industry
Preferred but not essential – Experience with Generators / Engines / Industrial Equipment / Heavy Machinery
Preferred but not essential – Fluent in German (Written and verbal)
Preferred but not essential – Holding degree level qualification
Compensation and Benefits
Basic Salary: £47,000 - £55,000
Defined contribution pension scheme – Company contributions up to 9%
Annual Bonus Plan – Target 8% (Based upon company performance)

Developing Account Strategy - Determines current status of account in terms of relationship, financial, product competitiveness, barriers, quality, and service and defining desired future state by balancing customer requirements and business capabilities in order to define achievable targets aligned with the business strategy.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
Required: College, university, or equivalent degree in Marketing, Sales or a related subject, or acceptable sales related work experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.
AVK Business Development: Translate customers’ needs into product requirements for AvK brand; Promotes AvK products among global customers
Manages tactical projects in a broad set of subjects, supporting Commercial initiatives defined by the Sales GM
Drives sales ensuring customer satisfaction. Maintains and strengthens customer relationships to generate future sales and repeat business. Responds to customer concerns in a timely fashion.
Centralises and coordinates efforts of other local account managers supporting regional divisions of our Key account, ensuring a coherent global strategy for them
Leads a multi-disciplinary key account team with the objective of ensuring a smooth operation for key account
Experience managing key accounts in a context of supply of industrial goods is highly advantageous
