This is an exciting opportunity in Peterborough for a passionate and driven Project Manager. You will be responsible for two major projects that aims to deliver new and exciting hybrid technology by 2025. These are government funded projects that entail working closely with external research facilities and clients and you will liaise closely with all parties to ensure that the projects are within budget and on schedule.

To be successful in this role you will be highly organized, demonstrate a high level of initiative and have a strong commercial awareness.

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:

  • Lead on multiple projects and facilitate project planning sessions with internal stakeholders to determine the scope and objectives of each project; works with business stakeholders to establish performance goals; design project plan, develop timeline, identify milestones, and tracks performance against set goals and timeline

  • Identify and liaise with others to resolve project issues

  • Oversee and communicate project status to project team

  • Devise and monitor project budget, conducts research and analysis; provides input into the design and development of project plans and timelines

  • Identify and manages project risk; works with others on the team and outside the team to identify innovative solutions

  • Record and share team learning's with other teams; draws on other project team experiences to enhance the success of the project

  • Document project notes, databases, and other records; monitors measures and communicates with Project Sponsor and other stakeholders on status of specific projects and assignments

  • Identify and assign appropriate resources to accomplish various project tasks; guides and coaches team members through various stages of the project; provides developmental feedback to team members

  • Lead funding applications for lead Research and Technology projects, utilizing strategic marketing insights


Skills and Experience Required:

  • Highly effective communication skills teamed with stakeholder management abilities, capable of working across all business unites, academic, government and industrial partners.

A strategic thinker with a natural interest and desire to understand the key drivers for technological development

Analytical and familiar with tools for financial analysis and its relevance to the project

Ability to prioritise issues based on level of importance and identify innovative and timely resolutions

Understand the relationship between functional areas on a project, and knows the detailed work of at least one functional area.

Ability to lead a team in the development of a project FMEA and project risk summary to identify and manage the actions to mitigate risk

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree required

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary between £39,280 - £54,000 depending on relevant experience

  • Pension Plan

  • Private medical insurance for employee, spouse and children up to age 21

  • Variable bonus up to 8 %
