This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly analytical Accountant with the ambition to become an influential presence in a global organization’s finance department.

You will be a significant player in a small finance team in Quimper, responsible for managing cost accounting activities as well as collaborating with our engineering team - providing financial reports that will help determine the success of key projects.

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:

  • Develop and conduct complex cost audits and cost analysis – refining and maintenance of product costings across the business unit.

Provide financial support to the business on the preparation of product cost/ tender processes/ performance reviews.

Support complex Value Package Introduction and new product introduction projects.

Working across the business to ensure robust costings are produced collaboratively with key departments.

Analyze cost variances such as: Labor cost Variance, Manufacturing cost Variance, Invoice Price Variance and Purchase Price Variance, determining root causes, and prepares recommendations and alternatives for improvements.

Identify data analysis needs, and work with appropriate departments to obtain the data on a regular basis.

Prepare analysis and draft materials presenting strategic recommendations to be made to management.

Support Supply Chain function for inventory management, conducting planning, forecasting, and reporting activities and preparing balance sheet reconciliations for valuation and inventory reserves.

Ensure inventory accounting is accurate and leads the physical inventory process (direct and indirect) from a finance perspective, verifies cycle counting process and verifies the inventory valuation process.

Support standard setting and reactive cost process (annual cost role up, defining reactive costs, etc.)

Manage the relationship with the Accounts Receivable team based in UK, creating new customers and modifying the credit limit in the ERP


You will be successful in this role with the following experience:

  • Existing experience in a similar role such as Cost Accountant or Project Accountant, ideally from FMCG, engineering, manufacturing industries but other backgrounds will be considered.

Advanced Excel skills including; VBA, VLOOKUPS, Pivots with advanced data manipulation ability.

Good ERP knowledge with experience of Oracle is a plus.

Knowledge of French GAAP essential and US GAAP would be an advantage.

Proven experience managing a high volume of work through good organization skills, supporting multiple departments within a business by providing timely and accurate finance reports.

Work on initiative with an eye for seeing opportunities to modify and improve processes.

Excellent attention to detail.

French language skills are essential.

English language skills are essential.

Willingness to take on extra responsibilities as required.

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • You must have relevant finance or business qualifications or be qualified by existing experience to be considered for this position.
