This is an exciting opportunity in Quimper, France for a Plant Manager.

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:

  • You will set the aim for the organization and ensuring long & short term goals for the plant align with overall business unit /enterprise objectives and Cummins values, including leading plant continuous improvement initiatives, driving step changes in product quality, 5S, Lean Manufacturing and new product introduction processes whilst leveraging common processes, tools and COS principles (Cummins Operating System).

  • Responsibility for overall site business KPI performance (safety, productivity, delivery, quality and cost) and supporting overall supply chain initiatives to optimize the overall manufacturing network to drive performance.

  • Directing, managing and leading a cross functional team of 10 direct reports across operations, finance, human resources, safety, quality, manufacturing, engineering and supply chain management supporting the plastics manufacturing, assembling, and processing operations required in manufacturing and production operations at a single plant.

  • Indirectly responsible for approximately 400 employees across the plant.

  • Coaching and developing plant operating team staff; working with employees to set goals in training and development, performance, and career planning.

  • Collaboration with Union Representatives on labor relations initiatives.

  • Identifies strategic priorities and develops the capital budget and plant expense budgets.

  • Consults with customers, suppliers and industry representatives to evaluate and promote improved and expanded products and services.


  • Significant demonstrable experience of operating in a high-volume manufacturing environment with tight lead times.

  • Extensive demonstrable involvement in continuous improvement and driving product quality using quality engineering principles.

  • Background experience of the automotive or critical components manufacturing industry is essential. In addition to a unionised environment.

  • Proven leadership skills are essential including performance management, succession planning and coaching/development of others.

  • Ability to adjust leadership style to the individuals and environments concerned with a strong emphasis on stakeholder awareness and ability to influence others.

  • Ability to motivate and lead operational teams through a rapidly changing environment whilst striving towards challenging delivery lead times.

  • Demonstrable evidence of budget management and financial planning for a manufacturing plant.

  • Strategic thinker with broad business knowledge and ability to recognize significant long-term opportunities for success and accompanying risks.

  • Fluency in French & English is essential

Qualifications required:

Educated to degree level in a relevant and applicable field. MBA would be desirable.
