This is an exciting opportunity for a field-based Project Sales Manager. There is flexibility to work from any of our UK locations (although regular travel to our Wellingborough, Northants office will be required).
Cummins is a world leader in the design and manufacture of power generation equipment, including PowerCommand™ standby and prime power systems. We also provide single-source warranty, planned maintenance and round-the-clock emergency service.
All aspects of generator set design, manufacture and service have been brought together in one company. All the major components – the engine, alternator and control systems – are manufactured by Cummins. This integrated approach means each element of a generating set is matched to work in harmony from the start.
Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:
Using your knowledge of the power generation sector, your strong sales skills and your hunger to win new business, you will drive sales of generators and installation projects across the United Kingdom.
You will be tasked with growing the territory, maximising revenue and profitability, and extending Cummins’ position as market leader in the sector.
You will manage the full sales lifecycle, from prospecting, lead generation, initial customer contact, proposals and converting sales.
You will also act as the main point of contact with the customer through the delivery and installation process.
Skills and Experience Required:
Extensive sales experience in the Power Generation industry, or within a related field (e.g. UPS, Switchgear)
Exposure to managing a customer base of key public and private sector organisations.
Experience of project or solution sales, i.e. generator sets along with installation and commissioning services.
A track record of effective sales territory management – sales planning, accurate forecasting, customer visit scheduling and strong conversion ratios.
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree, or a Sales or marketing-related degree, equivalent qualification in a technical discipline, or equivalent vocational experience in a technical sales role (ideally within the Power Generation industry).
