Senior Accountant

In this role, you will be responsible for performing highly specialized accounting work required to maintain the department’s general ledger and detailed financial analysis of the department’s chart of accounts and financial statements by identifying and analyzing unusual variances. You will also be :

• Acting as the Financial accounting Leader the Atmus Filtration Legal with a key focus on Belgium and supporting the UK and Germany;

• Involved in Month End Close deliverables plus ARM reconciliations;

• Responsible for the preparation of the statutory tax and VAT reporting requirements;

• Supports the conduction of internal and external audits;

• Ensures SOx compliance for the site and that general accounting practices and internal controls are being followed;

• Partners with GPL & CBS teams to oversee the transition of accounting activities during new facility & system setup for Atmus:

• Inventory management in ERP changeover

• Oracle SaaS transition

• Movement of Credit approvals database/Customer setup process

• Providing local accounting support to business teams– AP queries, GRNI, ARIBA/GSAR, etc.

• Analyzes, records, and reports accounting transactions in a timely manner.

• Prepares balance sheet and profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports.

• Reviews existing internal controls on a regular basis and develops new internal controls as necessary;

• Analyzes current procedures and recommends changes to develop and implement best practice accounting procedures;

• Protects the organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Qualifications

About you:

You will ideally have accounting experience within an automotive/heavy machinery industry, however, if you enjoy and can demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, resiliency, and strong communication skills along with an analytical mindset and interest in Accounting domain, we’d love to hear from you. Here are some of the other skills and competencies we’d like you to have:

• BA and/or MA degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required;

• Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant or similar certification is preferred;

• Proven previous experience in accounting, ideally within the automotive / heavy machinery / engineering industry, and knowledge of BE GAAP;

• Proven experience in Financial Reporting, Analysis, and Internal Controls;

• Ability to work autonomously as well as together with the team.

• Fluency in Dutch and English, as these are our main business languages used on the site.
