We have an opportunity for a Finance placement student based at Stockton-on-Tees to start in the summer of 2019. Please note, this role will relocate to Darlington during Q4 this year.
Duties will include :-
Assists with account reconciliation, analysis, journal entry preparation and data entry. Assists with the month-end close process. Performs activities under direct supervision.
Assists with compiling, consolidating and conducting basic analysis of accounting and finance information.
Assists with preparation of basic journal entries.
Provides assistance with monthly and annual account reconciliations, under direct supervision.
Assists with preparation of tables, charts, and other exhibits for reports.
May perform basic accounting projects or participate as a team member in basic projects.
Performs ad hoc reporting requests as needed

Financial Internal Controls - Leverages internal control framework by assessing internal controls and developing remediation plans to mitigate financial reporting risks and respond to changing business needs.
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
Provide financial and business analysis support
Prepare journal entries for month-end close
Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
Maintain internal control documentation
Participate in process improvement
Analyse financial reports for accuracy and completeness
Complete balance sheet reconciliations
Drive improvements to balance sheet reconciliations
Account for loan account entries and liaise with internal customers
Provision of audit information as/when required
Support Financial Accountant when required.
Studying towards a professional accountancy qualification preferred.
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office
Strong analytical skills.
